Flare in the Flesh

Revisiting Flare [link] in a slightly more anime style.

Before anyone comments 'I almost thought she was real but...'
I have long ago abandoned the pursuit of photorealism. While I respect the work involved in achieving it, my personal vision of what 3D should be differs. If I want photorealism, I will pick up a camera and snap a photo of something for less than 1/1000th the work involved in recreating it in 3D. We go through all this effort and frustration to create something in 3D, so why should the end goal of that be to perfectly mimic a photo? We have a unique opportunity to make something that *doesnt* exist in real life, that transcends reality -- and also a chance to inject our own sense of style and flavour while were at it.

So this represents more or less the direction i'll be headed from now on. Still realistic, but polished, stylized and slightly surreal. Hope you like it
